Lewis, Kern. "How to Write a Compelling E-mail Subject Line." Forbes.com. N.p., 24 Sep. 2010. Web. 23 Nov. 2010.
In this article, Kern Lewis lists down eight tips on how to create short but informative e-mail subject headings. Headings should have enough information in it to describe what is the content of the e-mail. You might as well customize it, according to the article, so that the potential reader will feel that it is not just an ordinary e-mail sent to hundreds of e-mail addresses. Indicating when do you need the response is also important so that the reader has an idea if it is urgent or not.
As discussed in class, e-mail subject headings should be effective enough so that your e-mail will be actually read. Ineffective subject headings will make your e-mail go into the trash folder, whether it is important or not.
