The University College System in British Columbia, Canada

Carr, Brian. “The University College System in British Columbia, Canada.” Accessed on October 19, 2010.

In the article “The University College System in British Columbia, Canada,” Dr. Brian Carr is describing in detail the post secondary educational system set up in British Columbia. Dr. Carr’s main focus of this article is on university colleges, and explains how they became a success in such a short period. He also touches on BC’s geography and his definition of the words “college” and “university.” Carr also goes into great depth describing the past history of the BC post secondary educational systems. Also included are the successes and ongoing challenges facing the university colleges today. In conclusion, this article shows how university colleges are a success and this ties in to my project because it shows me that even though Simon Fraser University is known as a “higher-end” school, Kwantlen Polytechnic University can be just as good, gaining more recognition as the years go by.
