Miscommunication via texting, Internet growing

Dickey, Kelly. "Miscommunication via texting, Internet growing". The Ball State Daily News. Accessed October 19, 2010.

According to victim advocate Michele Cole, the trend of nonverbal communications (text messaging, e-mail, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) causes misunderstandings and does not promote healthier relationships. For instance, a person may interpret a text message differently from the one who sent the message, which creates a possible conflict between them. Cole added that social media can also be used to harass people, such as posting Facebook status messages to target people indirectly.

The increasing development of technology has created a serious communication problem, which must be fixed as soon as possible.
